A Young Spanish Surfer Óscar Serra Died at the Age of 22
In the Mexican state of Oaxaca, a young surfer died after falling from a 6-foot wave. Oscar Serra, a Spanish surfer, died in a surfing accident in Mexico. He was 22 years old at the time. The incident occurred earlier this week while Serra was surfing in the southern part of the country, according to a tweet from the Spanish Surfing Federation.

“There are no words to describe so much pain,” the federation wrote in a tweet translated from Spanish. “Life is often unfair.”
Men’s Health reported that Serra, a Valencia native, hit his head after falling from a six-foot wave while surfing. Serra’s partner, Aynara Aymat, posted a pair of tributes on social media, including an Instagram video of a group of people gathered on a beach, according to People. The group was also seen in the video forming a circle in the water on surfboards while holding flowers.
“Although I am far away, I feel you are very close,” Aymat captioned the post in Spanish. “I hope to see you very soon and give you an enormous hug.”
