About Stripe

Stripe is a global financial infrastructure platform used by millions of businesses. Because Stripe handles payments, billing, fraud detection, and financial systems for companies across the world, accuracy and reliability are essential. Every invoice, pricing model, discount, tax calculation, or financial adjustment flows through User Billing systems. Therefore, the Financial Data Analyst plays a foundational role in maintaining trust and transparency.

About the User Billing Team

User Billing manages the systems and processes that turn Stripe’s products into revenue. Since these systems support enterprises and startups alike, they must operate with precision. The team owns billing engines, pricing workflows, audit structures, and financial controls. As a result, it ensures that users receive a frictionless billing experience, while internal teams receive timely and accurate economic data.

Additionally, Technical Operations serves as the central connector between product, engineering, finance, sales, and operations. This makes the team essential for problem-solving, revenue accuracy, and customer trust.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis and Trend Identification

You will work with extremely large datasets. In addition, you will perform data validation, create visualizations, detect anomalies, and provide insights for GTM teams, Accounting, Tax, and Finance. These analyses support decision-making across several departments.

2. Ticket Triage and Misbilling Investigation

You will analyze transactional data to identify billing errors. Furthermore, you will calculate refunds or clawbacks when necessary, ensuring customers are billed fairly and systems follow financial rules.

3. Month-End Close Support

You will collaborate with Accounting and Finance for monthly close processes. This includes validating data, resolving incidents, and confirming that all billing reports align with financial standards.

4. Cross-Functional Project Execution

You will coordinate with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams. As a result, you will uncover operational inefficiencies and help implement stronger systems, better workflows, and more scalable solutions.

5. Financial Audit Support

Audits require precise data, and you will analyze records, trace billing histories, and prepare audit-ready datasets. This role demands accuracy and timely delivery.

6. Product Collaboration

You will work closely with FinSys Engineering to help define product improvements that impact pricing, billing engines, and financial systems.

7. Internal Knowledge Sharing

Since the role requires deep understanding of billing logic and financial structures, you will also conduct training sessions to strengthen team capabilities.

Who You Are

You enjoy solving complex business problems using data. You work well with multiple teams and can handle fast-changing environments. Because you will collaborate with US and India teams, strong communication and coordination skills are essential. Additionally, you bring a mix of analytical expertise and finance awareness.
